1964/09/26, 2. LNER A4 class 4-6-2 No. 60007 has stopped at Hawick station on the Waverley route from Carlisle to Edinburgh with the RCTS "Scottish Lowlander Railtour" on Saturday 26th September 1964. It had taken over from 46256 "Sir William A Stanier FRS" at Carlisle and then put in an amazing performance over the Waverley line after having to reverse at Carlisle Canal Junction after being mistakenly put on the main line towards Glasgow!
