1959/xx/xx, 2. From the Geoff Plumb Collection of original slides. Sunshine, shadow and smoke at St. Margaret's MPD in Edinburgh. Ex-works LNER Class B1 No. 61244 "Strang Steel" glints in the sunlight amongst other engines lost in the shade, admired by some of the shed staff. Date nor recorded but around 1959. Photographer unknown. 61244 was built by North British in October 1947, Works No. 26145, it was withdrawn from 64A in October 1965 and scrapped at Shipbreaking Industries, Faslane, in January 1966.

1959/xx/xx, 1. From the Geoff Plumb Collection of original slides. LNER J36 0-6-0 No. 65300 was a member of a very long-lived class, originally introduced in 1888 by Holmes of the North British Railway. Several engines were shipped overseas during the First World War and were named appropriately when they returned. One of these, No. 65243 Previous | Next1959/xx/xx, 3.
