LNER J36 0-6-0 No. 65300 was a member of a very long-lived class, originally introduced in 1888 by Holmes of the North British Railway. Several engines were shipped overseas during the First World War and were named appropriately when they returned. One of these, No. 65243

LNER J36 0-6-0 No. 65300 was a member of a very long-lived class, originally introduced in 1888 by Holmes of the North British Railway. Several engines were shipped overseas during the First World War and were named appropriately when they returned. One of these, No. 65243 "Maude" survives in preservation. Here, 65300 shares shed yard space at Fort William MPD with LNER K1 class 2-6-0 No. 62011 on the left and what looks like a BR Standard 5MT 4-6-0 on the right. The picture is undated, but around 1959. Photographer unknown. 65300 was built at Cowlairs Works in October 1898, was withdrawn from Fort William in July 1962 and scrapped at Arnott & Young Ltd., Old Kilpatrick, in June 1963.
