1963/08/07, 3. A Peckett 0-4-0ST "Thurwhit" (Class R2 No. 1734/1927) has returned from the exchange sidings with BR into the yard at Alpha Cement works near Purfleet in Essex, Wednesday 7th August 1963. The three cement silos can still be seen to this day, just to the west of the M25 on the north side of the Dartford crossing of the River Thames.

1963/08/07, 2. A Peckett 0-4-0ST Previous | Next1963/09/21, 01. Barclay Fireless 0-4-0F No. 1561/1916 has been shunting and is now on its way to the steam re-charging equipment in order to replenish its steam reservoir whilst working at the Empire Paper Mills in north Kent. Saturday 21st September 1963.
