1965/08/05, 1. Springwell Bank Foot shed yard on the Bowes Railway was host to several engines on Thursday 5th August 1965, though none was in steam, this being a holiday period! This was NCB No. 6 Area "B" Group as painted on the engine's tankside and this engine was Area No. 26. It is still carrying its Bowes No. 15, however, and is in Springwell's livery of black with red lining. It is 0-6-0T IC (Hunslet 1506/1930). The engine in front of it is carrying both its numbers, Bowes No.14 and Area No. 25.

This area is now the headquarters of the Tanfield Railway, based at Marley Hill engine shed.
