Not all industrial railway systems were in the "traditional" industrial areas - here a Barclay 0-4-0ST (OC) works No. 2353 is pottering around in the exchange sidings with BR at West Thurrock power station in Essex. Quite what the engine is burning to produce the brown smoke I'm not sure! Alongside are the electrified tracks of the former London, Tilbury & Southend Railway from Barking via Tilbury to Southend. Wednesday 7th August 1963.
