1970/11/03, 07. CP (Companhia Dos Caminhos De Ferro Portugueses - Portuguese State Railways) metre gauge 2-4-6-0T Mallet No. E214 gets a wash down from its driver at Régua engine shed in the Douro valley of northern Portugal. This engine was one of a series of this unusual wheel arrangement built by Henschel between 1911 and 1923. Tuesday 3rd November 1970.

South Africa. 1972/09/01, 06. An unidentified South African Railways 19B Class 4-8-2 restarts its freight train away from a passing loop as it descends from Lootsberg Pass Summit towards Middelburg. It had passed a double-headed freight going the other way at this point. The weather looks somewhat threatening! Friday 1st September 1972.

1986/06/27, 4. Nacionales de Mexico Bo-Bo diesels Nos. 9123 & 9159 (9123 is a General Electric U23B built 1975) run light engines towards the main terminal station in Mexico City, while a freight train disappears in the distance having come off the branch line to the left. Friday 27th June 1986.

1969/06/xx, 7. London Transport No. L89 (ex-GWR 57xx Class 0-6-0PT No. 5775, now preserved on the K&WVR) shunts the tip at Croxley having arrived via reversal at Watford Metropolitan station with the Monday to Friday spoil train from Neasden depot. Note the steam cranes! June 1969.
