1972/08/xx, 2. Two Class 121 "Bubble Cars" pass at Clifton Down station on the line to Avonmouth and Severn Beach. In the foreground is unit No. C127 going to Severn Beach, while beyond it is B132 working to Bristol Temple Meads. The substantial station buliding was no longer in use and was being converted into a "Bahnhofstube" German pub, hence all the contents of the building on the platform! August 1972.

1973/07/07. From the Geoff Plumb Collection of original slides. Hymek diesel-hydraulic No. D7018 is in charge of an express passenger train, 1A48, comprising Mk. I stock including a buffet car. This is the 16:15 train from Worcester to Paddington and is passing through Shipton station on the "Old, Worse & Worse", Oxford, Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway, now known as the Cotswold line. 1977/09/28, 1. Almost a full house! Just east of Twyford station, HST unit No. 253 025 is heading for Paddington on the up main line while a "Bubble-Car" single unit is heading west on the down main. Approaching on the up relief line is Class 47 No. 47078 "Sir Daniel Gooch" with a coal train. Wednesday 28th September 1977.

1977/09/28, 3. Class 31/1 No. 31165 (originally D5583) makes its way westward with a down parcels train on the main line approaching Twyford station, while a three-car DMU, unit No. L432 is bound for Paddington on the up relief line with a working from Oxford. Wednesday 28th September 1977.

1987/05/06, 2. BR prototype Class 210 DEMU No. 210 002, one of two examples built in 1981. 210 001 was a four car unit,while 210 002 was a three car unit. Both were allocated to Reading depot at this time. Here, the unit is working the 12:50 departure from Bedwyn, soon after leaving the station, bound for Reading at 12:51 on Wednesday 6th May 1987. 1997/01/25. A westbound Great Western Trains InterCity liveried HST passes the classic spot at Little Bedwyn on the Berks & Hants line alongside the Kennet & Avon canal with a train diverted from the GWML due to engineering works, Saturday 25th January 1997. Leading power car is 43037.

2000/03/15. EWS Class 67s were built to haul high speed postal trains for the Royal Mail, which inevitably ceased to run soon after the class introduction! Here, No. 67015 approaches Crofton on the Berks & Hants line with a test train from Taunton to Old Oak Common at 15:59 on Wednesday 15th March 2000.

2000/05/17. Res liveried Class 47 47738 "Bristol Barton Hill" is at the rear of an up Royal Mail train at South Moreton, topping and tailing with 67009 at 18:10 on Wednesday 17th May 2000.

2002/02/23. D1015 "Western Champion" at Denchworth with "The Western Pathfinder" train from Paddington to Bristol, Saturday 23rd February 2002.

2003/09/25, 1. Seen from the bridge on the A4 looking north at Colnbrook towards West Drayton. The new yard that was built for London Concrete as part of the Heathrow Terminal 5 construction contract can be seen to the right of the running line. Various trains of cement wagons are in the sidings, but on this occasion no locos were present. In the background can be seen some of the bridges that form the junction between the M4 and M25 Motorways. Thursday 25th September 2003.

2003/09/25, 2. View looking south from the A4 roadbridge towards the oil terminal at Colnbrook, as a transatlantic Virgin flight approaches for landing at Heathrow. No train was present on this occasion at the terminal which is just beyond the gates across the track. The line no longer continues beyond here, but originally continued to the terminus at Staines West. Thursday 25th September 2003.
