Aylesbury Shunter Delivery, 9th October 2009 & Naming, 30th October 2009.
9th October 2009

Wrexham & Shropshire/Chiltern Railways took delivery of a shunting loco to Aylesbury Depot on Friday 9th October 2009. This loco is to be used for shunting Wrexham stock around the depot and any other shunting moves required.

Ruston & Hornsby 0-6-0DM, Works No. 468043 of 1963, "Lesley", was delivered by Allelys Heavy Haulage from their yard at Studley. The loco carries Chiltern all over blue livery, its TOPS number is 01509, though it doesn't carry this, it is allocated to Aylesbury depot in pool MBDL and was owned by Knight's Rail Services of Eastleigh, it was sold by them to DB Regio UK, Chiltern's parent company.

It was officially named by Lesley Knight, Personal Assistant to Adrian Shooter, at Aylesbury depot during a ceremony on Friday 30th October 2009.

2009/10/09, 08. The Allelys low-loader squeezes round the rear of the depot building at Aylesbury, road "E" is the track embedded in concrete that the loco was to be unloaded onto, by the front of the tractor unit. A Wrexham coach can just be seen inside the building. A snag now arose, in that it had been thought that the loco would be unloaded from the rear of the trailer by simply reversing the low-loader until it was lined up over the track. However, it transpired that the loco had to be unloaded from the front of the trailer, which meant that a series of complicated moves had to be made to get the loco on the track and then extract the tractor unit and trailer! 14:11, Friday 9th October 2009.
